Shchedryk

Illustrations for the "Shchedryk" children's picture book, written by Naré Kim for Books International.

Shchedryk is a heartfelt story that nurtures the emotional well-being of Ukrainian refugee children, helping them stay connected to their culture. It celebrates Ukrainian traditions, especially Malanka and the beloved Shchedryk song (Carol of the Bells). The book also highlights the Ramsar wetlands, affected by the war, emphasizing the need for environmental preservation. Published in Ukrainian, English, and Korean, it spreads a message of resilience, hope, and cultural pride worldwide.

Both endpapers showcase selected bird species commonly found in Ramsar wetlands across Ukraine.
